French Onion Soup 1

Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup wine (white or red)
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 6 baguette slices
  • 1/4 cup shredded gruyère cheese
  • Thyme (garnish)

Instructions

    Thinly slice your onions.

    Add your butter and olive oil to a pot over medium heat.

  3. 3

    Add in your onions, salt, and baking soda, and constantly stir your onions until they’re caramelized.

  4. 4

    Add in your wine to degalze, and simmer for 2 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add in your beef broth and stir.

  6. 6

    Pour your soup into a bowl, and top with you baguette slices and grated Gruyère cheese.

    Broil until the cheese is golden brown and serve.
