Gochujang Butter Eggs

Gochujang Butter Eggs 1

Ingredients

ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 scallion (white and green parts separated)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 tbsp water
  • Cooked rice (for serving)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1

Boil the eggs: Bring water to a boil and cook your eggs for 7 minutes. Immediately transfer them to an ice bath then peel once cooled.

  2. 2

Prep the aromatics: Slice the white part of your scallion, and mince the garlic and ginger.

  3. 3

Make the sauce: In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté the scallion whites, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.

  4. 4

Add gochujang: Stir in the gochujang and cook briefly until it darkens slightly.

  5. 5

Finish the sauce: Add soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and water. Stir until a smooth sauce forms.

  6. 6

Combine with eggs: Slice your boiled eggs in half (optional) and stir them gently into the sauce to coat.

  7. 7

Serve: Spoon the saucy eggs over rice, garnish with scallion greens and sesame seeds.
